Laika the Spacedog Homework

6M were set the task of creating a project based on Laika the Spacedog, which was the story we saw when we visited Thameside Theatre.

The projects children made were fantastic! You can see the hard work that went into to creating all of the projects!

I was very impressed with the them all!

Well done 6M.

Maths week review by Brandon

Maths is magnificent

And you would think so too

Times and divide can be quite fun

Happy even if you don’t know what to do

Summing up the maths sequence can be quite hard

Cinderella’s Evil Step-Mother- Finn

She has pointy features and pointy toes,

Even pale all the way up to her nose!

Her eyes are red and her lips are black,

She may be a vampire, as a matter of fact!

Never nice is she,

Forcing her poor daughter, Cindy,

To do all the chores and wipe the floors though she does nothing herself at all!

Snow White in New York by Alfie M

SNOW WHITE IN NEW YORK POEM !
I guess you think you know this story.
You don’t the real one is much more glory.
Mind you they got the first bit right.
The people thought of the princess and flew a kit.
Sadly Snow White got replaced.
By a queen with a wicked face.
The evil queen was full of joy.
At least she isn’t a gruesome boy.
Snow White’s funeral was dark and wicked.
The people were very timid.
Then she finally awoke again.
She was happy with the elegant Jazzmen.
Snow White finally found true love.
Like a lovely white Dove.
The Princess was full of laughter.
The couple lived happily ever after.

Snow White In New York Poem by Abi

I guess you think step-mothers are cool,

You shouldn’t. They make you look like an absolute fool.

The phoney ones, the one your father marries,

Soon she’ll be walking around with the child she carries.

And made to cheer you up after your mothers death,

Just to keep you happy until your last breath.

Snow White’s step-mother always liked to see herself in the New York Mirror.

Her shiny black hair that would shimmer.

But Snow White, Belle of New York,

Didn’t play with the end of her fork.

While her father was at the valley,

A guard of her step-mother dragger her to a deep dark alley.

But the guard could not kill the young lady,

And her step-mother was looking shady.

“I’ll kill her myself!” she said,

Into the mirror that was red.

“Dear Snow, please come to my ball,

It’ll be fun! It’ll be cool!”

Snow White agreed while on the phone.

On her own,

she stumbled across a club,

The Blue Diamonds Jazz Club.

And was offered a job,

A singing job.

And as she sang,

She earned a fan.

And it was a news reporter.

And she was shorter.

After that, she left for the ball,

That was supposedly cool.

Her step-mother gave her a cherry cocktail drink,

With a scary horrific wink.

SPLUTTER, COOOR

She fell to the floor.

A few days passed, and her father was crying and coughing.

The 7 jazz men and the news reporter held her coffin.

A jazz men tripped,

And they all slipped.

Snow White opened her eye.

She did not die.

She saw the news reporter,

The one where she was shorter.

They got married, went on honeymoon on a beach near the seas,

And they danced in between the trees.

What is Light? by Finn

Light is a waveform that travels in only straight lines and reflects off of objects so that they can be seen. There are many sources of light that includes our sun, light-bulbs, fire and many others.

Reflection:

Reflection is when light bounces of of objects so that they can be seen. Light reflects clearer on sooth and shiny surfaces though it does reflect off of darker objects, just not as well.

Refraction:

Refraction is the bending of a (light or other) wave when it enters a medium where its speed is different. The refraction of light happens when it passes from a fast medium to a slow medium. It bends the light ray so the object looks distorted and twisted.

Light- Abigail

In science, we have been focusing on light. We have learned that a light on its own goes in a straight line.

REFLECTION

Reflection is the name for light bouncing off objects of surfaces. Light can’t go through objects, so a reflection is caused.

Yesterday, the 8th of June 2016, we did various investigations.
